How do I help a client send an earnest money deposit (EMD)? (Domestic Transfer Only)

This guide provides instructions on helping your clients send the Earnest Money Deposits (EMD) to Redwood through Earnestly.

It also provides a PDF version of the wiring instructions in the 2nd option if preferred.

There are 2 options for clients to send an EMD.

Option 1 (preferred): Send the client the link to send the payment. See steps below:

  1. Send to the clients: emd.c21redwood.com
  2. Client will need to fill out the Buyer Name (only 1 name needed), Email, Property Address, Agent Name, Earnest Money Amount (EMD) then click Continue to Payment
  3. Enter the routing (ACH/Electronic Payment – NOT WIRE) and account number then click Pay
  4. An email confirmation will be sent to the client that the EMD deposit was received.

Important Notes:

***A $15.00 convenience fee will be added to the amount due from the client starting on 02/17/2025. (The previous fee was $11.00.)

***The maximum EMD amount per transfer is $200,000. If you wish to send over the maximum amount, please email processing@c21redwood.com.

***Note: for first time payment submissions with Earnestly’s verification system, it can take up to 5 business days at the longest to reflect to the client’s account. As long as the funds are still available in each account while being allocated for the transaction, there should be no issue.***

Option 2:  Agent to send the wiring or ach/electronic payment instructions (click here for the link) to the clients so that they can initiate the transfer from their bank directly. See important notes below when initiating a transfer directly:

Send funds by wire – funds are received by Century 21 Redwood Realty within a few hours (if within the bank cut off time). Clients are normally charged wire fees depending on their financial institution (need to contact their bank to confirm).

Send funds by ACH/Direct Deposit – funds are usually received by Century 21 Redwood Realty by the next day business day (if sent within the bank cut off time). Most banks don’t charge a fee for sending a transfer but clients must confirm with their financial institution.
