How to subscribe to an iCal feed in your favorite Calendar app

This guide explains how to combine multiple calendars into your favorite calendar app, allowing you to have a single place to go for all of the dates that are important to you.

Did you know that most calendar apps allow you to combine multiple calendars into a single feed? This handy feature allows you to keep tabs on many different sources of dates using a single calendar app of your choosing like Google Calendar, Outlook, or the Calendar app on Mac and iOS devices.

When wanting to subscribe to a calendar, what you’re looking for is something called an iCal or ICS feed. This technology provides a way of subscribing to a calendar. Sadly, not all calendars offer this feature, but most do—it is a standard.

Redwood also provides you with a calendar feed you can subscribe to: you’ll find it on accessRedwood in Settings > Calendars.

Subscribing with Google Calendar

To subscribe to a calendar in Google Calendar, follow these instructions. Look for the option titled Add using a link.

Subscribing with Outlook

If you use Outlook on the web, follow these instructions. Look for Subscribe to a calendar, and make sure to follow the instructions that are specific to your version of Outlook (the guide tells you how to know which one you are using).

Subscribing with Calendar on Mac

If you use Calendar on the Mac, follow these instructions. Look for Subscribe to a calendar. Note that in addition to subscribing on your Mac, you can also choose to subscribe in iCloud, making that subscription available to all of your Apple devices.
