EMD Process for Earnestly (Internal Process)

This is for Processing/Commissions department's internal process.


EMD PROCESS:

There are 2 different options for clients to send the EMD using Earnestly:

Option 1 (preferred): Agent to Send the client the link to send the payment. See steps below:

  1. Copy this link to send to the clients: https://earnestly.payload.co/c21-redwood-realty/buyers
  2. Client will need to fill out the Buyer Name (only 1 name needed), Email, Property Address, Agent Name, Earnest Money Amount (EMD) then click Continue to Payment
  3. Enter the routing and account number then click Pay
  4. An email confirmation will be sent to the client that the EMD deposit was received.

***A $15.00 convenience fee will be added to the amount due from the client starting on 02/17/2025. (The previous fee was $11.00.)





Option 2: Agent to send an invitation to client: https://earnestly.payload.co/c21-redwood-realty/send-request




Internal Process:

  1. Go to https://payload.co/login#processing-accounts to log in to the back office of Payload and take you to the dashboard
  2. Click on Payments tab to see all of the payments received. Any EMD payments will post to C21 Redwood’s account in 3 days.
  3. Select one of the payments items to see details.
  4. If refund is due, see steps below:
    • Click Options
    • Confirm the amount for refund
    • Click Refund
    • Another line item will show the refunded item. Client should receive the refund in the account within 3 days at no charge to C21 Redwood.




Declined Payment:

If the payment is unsuccessful, a notification with the reason the payment was declined will be sent to the Processing Team’s email address.  If this happens, follow these steps:


  1. Confirm that a successful one will be received in a few minutes.
  2. If it wasn’t successful at all, email the agent/client and inform them that we received a notification that the payment was declined. Confirm if they will try sending it again and ask if they need assistance.
