Important Information for Agents Applying for a Real Estate License in Another Jurisdiction

This guide shows information and process when an agent decides to get a secondary license for another jurisdiction

What steps should an agent take to apply for an additional real estate license in a different jurisdiction?

If an agent seeks licensure in another jurisdiction, they must notify their EVP. The agent can consult the guides provided by each real estate commission to determine the pre-licensing requirements. While some states offer reciprocity, others may require the completion of additional licensing courses. Additionally, the agent must attend the Contract Writing Classes offered by CENTURY 21 Redwood Realty.

What are the contract writing classes offered by CENTURY 21 Redwood Realty?

These classes are divided into four parts and are currently offered as part of the Ascend training series. The curriculum covers NVAR, MR, and GCAAR contracts (for both MD and DC). A separate class for WV and PA contracts is also available based on demand. Agents can find the schedule by accessing the Redwood Calendar. Here’s the guide to learn more on how to view the calendar: Getting Started with Calendars

Will the agent automatically gain access to the additional ZipForms library?

The agent’s access to the additional ZipForms library must be approved by the broker of the branch where the agent is licensed. The broker will verify that the agent has completed all necessary steps, including attending the Contract Writing Classes, before granting access to the library.
